Cold Formed – Purlins C & Z

Purlins at EEC are manufactured through cold roll forming of steel strips of various thicknesses, going up to 3 mm.

EEC purlins are made of black or galvanized steel strips, cold formed into C & Z profiles of different sizes. Their thickness can be up to 3 mm and the length is according to client specification.

Because of their light weight, high quality, durability and lower total cost, these purlins are the best alternative to the equivalent standard steel sections.

Purlins can also be used for the skeletons of caravans and prefabricated units.

C & Z Sections are secondary structural members used between the main beams of the steel structure.

Technical Specification:

  • These profiles are made from preheat dipped galvanized steel, G275 coating based on EN 10147 with guaranteed yield strength 350 N/mm². The metal thickness varies for C Section (from 1.5mm to 3.0mm) and Z Section (from 1.5mm to 2.5mm).
  • Sleeves are used to join purlin above frames, whereas 6 to 8mm cleats and 16mm bolts are usually used to connect this profile to building frames.
